LightFury Games, co-founded by ex-Unacademy CMO Karan Shroff, launched its first studio in Bengaluru on July 9. Following an $8.5 million seed funding led by Blume Ventures in April 2024, the studio aims to develop high-quality AAA mobile and console games.

New Studio and Leadership

Located near Bengaluru International Airport, the 60-seater studio features cutting-edge infrastructure. LightFury has bolstered its leadership with industry veterans:

  • Justin Farren: Chief Creative Officer, formerly of Wargaming and Ubisoft.
  • Chong-U Lim: Chief Technology Officer, with a PhD in Computer Science and AI from MIT.
  • Daniel Hall: Vice President of Engineering, with over 12 years in the gaming industry.
