Apex Legends is turning up the heat this July with the launch of its latest limited time event, Haute Shot. The summer themed event officially goes live on July 15 and is packed with fresh content that blends seasonal flair with impactful updates. From vibrant new skins and a universal melee item to a rework of the Arena Duels mode, Respawn Entertainment has rolled out one of its most feature rich midseason updates yet.

The highlight of the Haute Shot event is undoubtedly the introduction of a new universal melee item called the Sky Piercer. Unlike heirlooms that are locked to specific Legends, the Sky Piercer can be equipped by any character in the game. This fireworks launching sceptre not only offers a visually striking new way to melee but also supports customization through the Exotic Shop, allowing players to upgrade and personalize it further. Its inclusion signals Respawn's intent to expand melee options across the board and bring more variety to the game’s cosmetic arsenal.

Arena mode, specifically the Duels format, is also receiving a notable overhaul during the event. With Haute Shot, Legend abilities will now be incorporated into Duels. Though loadouts, spawn points, and Legends will still be randomized and mirrored, the new twist adds strategic depth. Every kill now directly results in a win while timeouts will lead to a draw, enhancing the intensity of each round and reducing passive play.

The event also comes with a new set of collectible cosmetics and milestone rewards. Players can unlock limited time Haute Shot event packs that contain one guaranteed non duplicate event item and two standard items. Collecting these items contributes toward earning bonus rewards, including up to 20 Exotic Shards. These shards can later be used to acquire cosmetics from the Exotic Shop. The pack system encourages players to engage with the full event for maximum value while avoiding repeated drops.

Skins are being released for fan favorite Legends including Loba, Wattson, Bloodhound, Conduit, and the newest addition to the Apex roster, Sparrow. Each skin captures the summer vibe with bold colors and sleek designs, giving players more reasons to dive back into the game. The pricing for these skins remains in line with previous events, costing either 1800 Apex Coins or 2400 Crafting Materials.

Weapon enthusiasts are also in for a treat, as Haute Shot introduces new skins for an expansive lineup of guns. Custom designs are coming to the R 301 Carbine, Wingman, Charge Rifle, L Star EMG, EVA 8 Auto, Nemesis Burst AR, HAVOC rifle, and Rampage LMG. The variety ensures that players from every playstyle have something new to look forward to visually, whether they prefer precise ARs or heavy hitting LMGs.

Aside from cosmetics and gameplay features, Respawn has included multiple balance changes and bug fixes as part of this update. Caustic mains will be pleased to know his Noxic Gas Trap now lasts twice as long, increasing from eleven seconds to twenty two, and enemy traps are now visually highlighted. Wattson’s upgrades, Energised Healer and Ultimate Conductor, have been tuned for better consistency, while a visual bug with Mirage’s Power Sword has been fixed so that it no longer shows while the Legend is invisible.

Players can also participate in time limited challenges throughout the Haute Shot event. Completing these unlocks exclusive badges for display on player banners, adding more incentive to keep grinding during the event window.

From gameplay changes to universal cosmetics, Haute Shot is shaping up to be more than just a typical seasonal refresh. It adds meaningful new content, brings beloved modes into sharper focus, and celebrates Apex Legends’ vibrant character design. Whether you're returning to the game or never left, July 15 marks a must play chapter in the ongoing evolution of Respawn’s battle royale.
