Geoff Keighley has officially announced the return of Summer Game Fest, with the 2026 edition set to take place on June 5. The global gaming showcase, known for its major announcements and world premieres, will now be hosted at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, marking a venue shift from last year’s YouTube Theatre.
This annual event has become the spiritual successor to E3, bringing together top developers, publishers, and fans to celebrate the future of video games. Tickets for the live in-person show will go on sale in spring 2026, while the event will be streamed worldwide on YouTube and Twitch.
Summer Game Fest 2026 to Be a “Cross-Platform Spectacle”

Keighley confirmed the news via his social media post, describing Summer Game Fest 2026 as a “spectacular, cross-platform showcase of what’s next in video games.” The new venue, the Dolby Theatre, will allow for a larger audience and a more immersive live experience, something Keighley has emphasized since the event’s inception in 2020.
While no lineup has been revealed yet, expectations are high following the massive success of Summer Game Fest 2025, which featured over 40 global premieres and announcements from top studios including Capcom, Bethesda, and Square Enix.
What to Expect in 2026
Fans can expect major reveals, exclusive trailers, and developer spotlights from the biggest names in the industry. The 2025 edition concluded with the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem, and insiders suggest that 2026 could feature updates on titles like Hades 2, Death Stranding 2, and new releases from PlayStation and Xbox.
Keighley also shared that a detailed event schedule and partner list will be announced closer to the date, promising an even more interactive and community-driven experience for both in-person attendees and global viewers.
Geoff Keighley’s Busy Year Ahead

Before Summer Game Fest returns next June, Geoff Keighley is also set to host The Game Awards 2025 on December 11 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The annual event will honor the year’s best games and is expected to feature world premieres, musical performances, and special guest appearances.
This year’s nominees for Game of the Year are expected to include Hades 2, Death Stranding 2, and Hollow Knight Silksong, among others.
With two of gaming’s most celebrated live events under his belt, Keighley continues to lead the charge in bringing the global gaming community together through immersive, high-production showcases that highlight the creativity and innovation shaping the industry’s future.
