With Renegades just weeks away, Bungie shared a focused roadmap that addresses lessons from Edge of Fate and details what players can expect through mid December. Launch on December 3 brings new exotics, weapons, Portal content, and a rewards refresh. A follow up update on December 9 targets power climb friction, removes featured gear limitations, and adds a catch up for new and returning Guardians to jump straight to power level three hundred.

Storage and customization
The Vault expands by three hundred slots to a total of one thousand, finally relieving long standing inventory pressure. A new filtering and sort system lets you view by tier, power, date added, and item type across weapons, armor, and ghost shells. Exotic armor gets a major cosmetic upgrade as any owned exotic ornament of the same class and slot can now be applied in PvE, extending transmog style flexibility to your most iconic pieces.

Progression and Portal fixes
Bungie acknowledged that Portal currently gives up too much of Destiny’s sense of place and exploration. To refocus weekly intent and reduce confusion, a new Vanguard Alerts panel will surface the entire weekly playlist picture in one place. Think of it as the modern spiritual return of weekly Nightfall clarity with the activity mix for Fireteam, Arena, Grandmaster, and PvP presented on a single screen.

Power journey
The first two December updates aim to narrow the power gap with more paths to reach viable endgame levels. Featured gear restrictions go away to open target farming, while the instant jump to power level three hundred helps friends rejoin quickly for Renegades activities without weeks of prep.

Why it matters
Players asked for less grindy gating, better inventory tools, and clearer weekly direction. These changes tackle all three while setting Renegades up with stronger retention loops after launch week. The Vault lift alone reduces fear of deleting god rolls, and exotic ornament freedom gives fashion a reason to revisit old sets.

Bungie framed this as a near horizon plan, with further sandbox and ritual updates to follow based on early Renegades data and feedback. Expect additional Portal tuning, economy adjustments, and balance passes as the season settles.
