In a bold and inclusive move, OG Esports is opening its doors to the public with the launch of the OG MR Combine, a global talent hunt aimed at scouting fresh players for its Marvel Rivals team. As competitive momentum builds around the Marvel Rivals Ignite series, OG is preparing for a strategic roster evolution and is inviting aspiring players to showcase their skills in a transparent and merit driven selection process.

This initiative comes as the current Ignite Stage 1 reaches its mid season finals, and the anticipation for Ignite Stage 2 and the upcoming season titled ‘The Abyss Awakens’ continues to grow. OG Esports is not just looking for seasoned pros, but also rising stars who are passionate, dedicated, and eager to contribute to the future of its Marvel Rivals lineup.

The OG MR Combine is structured to give every applicant a fair shot. Players must first apply through a designated form, where they will submit details such as their preferred role, top five heroes, gameplay style, and travel availability. Following this, selected candidates will participate in a series of performance assessments that include scrims, evaluations, and feedback sessions from the OG team.

Those who stand out will advance to the final phase, where they will receive one on one mentorship from OG’s performance managers. Top performers will then be offered a spot on OG Seed, the organization’s development squad. These chosen players will also be flown to Lisbon, Portugal, to join a bootcamp at the iconic Sunflower Gaming House, where they will receive intensive training and resources to prepare for upcoming tournaments.

The timing of these open trials is significant. OG Seed, the current developmental Marvel Rivals roster, placed 12th out of 16 teams in the Stage 1 EMEA tournament. Despite the potential of the existing players, the results suggest that OG Esports is looking for fresh talent to reinvigorate its roster and make a stronger impact on the global stage. The organization had previously disbanded its original Marvel Rivals team after the Season 1 Championships and restructured it into OG Seed a month later.

With this initiative, OG Esports is taking a clear stance on the future of esports recruitment. Their approach prioritizes potential, adaptability, and passion over established names. It reflects a broader mission to foster a more inclusive and community centric competitive environment. The organization emphasized that this is not merely a roster update, but a cultural shift towards innovation and diversity in gaming.

The open trial model also signals a trend in esports where teams are breaking away from the traditional behind closed doors scouting. OG’s decision to publicly host the Combine sends a powerful message about accessibility and democratization of opportunity in the gaming world.

What remains to be seen is whether this trial will lead to an entirely new team or a reshuffling of OG Seed’s current lineup. Either way, it is clear that OG Esports is investing heavily in the Marvel Rivals ecosystem and is determined to build a world class team from the ground up.
