Mario Kart World has arrived alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, and fans are already calling it one of the most ambitious entries in the series. To unlock the rest, you’ll need to dive into the Grand Prix mode. Completing specific cups rewards you with exclusive racers. Donkey Kong becomes available after you conquer the Mushroom Cup, Daisy is tied to the Flower Cup, and characters like Rosalina, Birdo, and King Boo wait at the finish lines of their own respective events. Each completion adds another face to your collection and makes your racing lineup more exciting.

There’s also a new twist in the form of Kamek’s Transformations. During races, collecting a special Kamek item can temporarily morph your character into a unique NPC from that area. These transformations include fun surprises like Chargin’ Chuck, Peepa, and even a Coin Coffer. Though these changes are temporary and depend on luck, the thrill of transforming mid race keeps every match unpredictable and fun.

Mario Kart World doesn’t just stop at racers. As you progress, you’ll also unlock outfits and themed vehicles, letting you customize your favorite characters to match your style. Whether you’re racing as Bowser Jr. in a banana themed kart or a Monty Mole in winter gear, the combinations are part of what make this new Mario Kart endlessly replayable.
