KRAFTON India, renowned for creating the beloved battle royale game BGMI, has announced the expansion of the first cohort of its gaming incubator program. Initially launched in October 2023, the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator Program (KIGI) is designed to nurture India's game development talent by providing mentorship, resources, and financial support. Following the selection of two promising developers, KRAFTON is now welcoming additional applications to join this innovative initiative.
KIGI offers significant financial assistance, ranging from $50,000 to $150,000, to help cover early development costs, allowing teams to concentrate on enhancing their games. In exceptional cases, support can increase to $250,000 depending on the project's needs.
Beyond financial aid, participants in the program gain access to AppMagic, a comprehensive tool for mobile app market analysis. This platform aids developers in gaining insights into competitive intelligence, product development, user acquisition, and lead generation, transforming how developers approach the mobile market landscape. Additionally, the selected startups will receive cloud credits to further their development efforts.
Anuj Sahani, the head of KRAFTON India's Incubator Program and India Publishing Advisor, expressed his excitement about the program's expansion: "We are committed to cultivating India's gaming ecosystem by supporting more talented developers. With financial backing, expert mentorship, and state-of-the-art tools like AppMagic, we aim to propel Indian game developers to success and foster innovation in the global gaming scene."
The program also boasts experienced mentors including:
- Harns Kim: A KRAFTON Inc veteran, Game Producer, Game Designer, and Marketing Expert with over 25 years of experience, especially in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
- Dave Curd: Vice President and Creative Director at PUBG Studios, with a 25-year tenure in entertainment and gaming, contributing to major titles like the Call of Duty franchises.
- Joseph Park: Product Head, Producer, and Game Designer with 24+ years in the industry, involved in the development of games like Black Squad and Battlefield - Online.
KRAFTON India encourages developers with innovative gaming concepts and a strong passion for the industry to apply for the current cohort of the KIGI and embark on their journey to transform their gaming ideas into reality.
