Fans hoping to see Death Stranding 2 on Xbox Series X or S may be disappointed, as the game is currently confirmed only for PlayStation 5. Kojima Productions has not announced any plans to bring the title to other consoles or platforms, and all official listings point to a PS5 exclusive launch.

Set to release on June 26, 2025, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which makes a release on rival consoles like Xbox highly unlikely in the near future. Despite the original Death Stranding eventually finding its way to PC after debuting on PlayStation, there is no confirmation that the sequel will follow the same path.

Kojima Productions’ website lists PlayStation 5 as the sole platform for the upcoming title, and so far, no hints or rumors have suggested otherwise. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is also not expected to receive the game, largely due to its hardware limitations and the demanding technical specifications of Death Stranding 2.

The partnership between Sony and legendary game designer Hideo Kojima plays a key role in this exclusivity. Since the inception of Kojima Productions, the studio has maintained a close working relationship with Sony, making it the natural platform for his cinematic, high concept projects.

While some speculate that the game might eventually be ported to PC or other platforms in the future, there is currently no evidence to support this possibility. For now, Death Stranding 2 remains firmly in the hands of PlayStation 5 players.
