The Fortnite world has its new kings. Egor SwizzY Luciko, Aleksa Queasy Cvetkovic, and Andrejs Merstach Piratovs shocked fans across the globe by winning the FNCS 2025 Global Championship in Lyon-Décines, France. After battling against 32 elite teams and 99 of the best players in the world, the trio etched their names into Fortnite history and walked away with the grand prize of 450,000 dollars.

The Grand Finals spanned two action-packed days from September 6th to 7th, featuring 12 grueling matches that tested the limits of strategy, endurance, and nerves of steel. SwizzY and Merstach of Gentle Mates teamed up with Queasy of Twisted Minds, and from the very beginning, they set the stage for something special. Dominating games two through four, including a jaw-dropping 16 eliminations in game three, the trio quickly became the team to watch.

Their journey was far from flawless. After an incredible start, momentum dipped as they struggled to maintain dominance in the later rounds. From game nine onward, they failed to break into the top ten, finishing no higher than eleventh place in the final matches. Yet their early firepower proved enough. By the end of game twelve, the trio had racked up 697 points, securing first place and claiming the World Champions title.

The result was as shocking as it was exhilarating. The team had only managed to qualify for the championship after placing fifth in the FNCS 2025 Major 2 Europe Grand Finals. Few predicted they would topple favorites and outperform household Fortnite stars like Clix, who finished a distant eighteenth. Fans around the world were left stunned as the underdogs took the crown.

For the players themselves, this victory is the culmination of years of perseverance. SwizzY improved on his 2024 performance where he placed tenth alongside Japko, while Queasy moved one step higher from his heartbreaking runner-up finish last year. Merstach also experienced redemption after finishing thirty second in the 2024 tournament. Together, they achieved the ultimate Fortnite dream.

Meanwhile, past champions struggled to recapture their former glory. Teams led by Peterbot and Pollo, last year’s title holders, finished in disappointing fifteenth and sixteenth places, showing just how unpredictable and unforgiving the Fortnite competitive scene can be.

The FNCS 2025 Global Championship was not only a triumph for the players but also a massive success for the Fortnite community. Esports Charts reported a peak viewership of over 954,000, making it the most watched Fortnite esports event since the legendary 2019 World Cup Finals. With an average audience of nearly 691,000 and more than 7.5 million hours watched across the weekend, the event proved Fortnite still has the power to capture the global stage. The twelfth and final game even became the most popular Fortnite broadcast of the year, underscoring the intensity of the climax.

This championship will be remembered as the year three players defied expectations and redefined the limits of what underdogs can achieve. With their names now carved into Fortnite history, Queasy, SwizzY, and Merstach stand tall as the champions who proved that skill, persistence, and teamwork can conquer all.
