Activision and ESL Outline the Road to the COD Mobile World Championship 2024

The Call of Duty Mobile community is gearing up for another competitive year as Activision and ESL have announced the detailed format for the COD Mobile World Championship 2024. The tournament boasts a whopping $1,150,000 total cash prize pool and is scheduled to run from April 18 to October 6. The grand finale of the event, known as the World Finals, will take place in Atlanta, North America.

Tournament Structure and Phases

The championship journey is divided into five distinct phases, ensuring a rigorous selection process for the top teams from around the globe:

  1. Open Solo Qualifiers (April 18 - May 8): Players from all participating regions will compete in ranked matches to earn qualification points. This initial stage allows individual talents to shine and set the stage for team formations.

  2. Open Team Qualifiers (May 11 - 25): Following the solo qualifiers, players must form teams to compete in this phase. The team-based qualifiers encourage collaboration and strategic gameplay, which are crucial for progressing in the tournament.

  3. Snapdragon Mobile Open Finals (June - July): The best teams from the Open Team Qualifiers will compete in a double-elimination bracket during these finals. The top eight teams from this stage will advance to the next round.

  4. Challenge Season (Dates TBD): This stage features two rounds of competition and will be broadcast live on YouTube. Teams must perform at their peak to secure a spot in the World Finals.

  5. World Championship Finals (October 4 - 6): The culmination of the tournament, where the top teams from the Challenge Season and direct qualifiers from China and Southeast Asia will compete for the lion's share of the $1 million prize pool.

Regional Focus

The regional qualifiers will take place across five key regions: North America, LATAM, Europe, India, and Japan. Teams from China and Southeast Asia will have their own regional tournaments to determine who advances directly to the World Finals.
