Team Falcons emerged as champions of the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, the year’s first major Dota 2 tournament, by decisively defeating Team Liquid 3-0 in the Grand Finals held on February 17. This victory earned Falcons the grand prize of $400,000 from a total prize pool of $1 million.

- Group Stage: Falcons finished with a 6-4 record, securing the fourth seed in Group A.
- Playoffs: They swept Xtreme Gaming and defeated Azure Ray in the semifinals. Falcons then bested BetBoom Team 2-1 in the upper bracket finals to advance to the Grand Finals.
Grand Finals Breakdown
- Game 1: Oliver "skiter" Lepko’s Gyrocopter led Falcons to a 42-minute victory, with skiter achieving 15 kills and nine assists.
- Game 2: A closer match, but skiter’s Gyrocopter again shined, leading Falcons to a 2-0 series lead despite Liquid’s strong fight.
- Game 3: Falcons dominated Liquid, securing a 33-7 win, with skiter’s flawless performance (nine kills, nine assists) ensuring the 3-0 sweep.
Team Liquid’s Performance
Liquid, starting as the second seed from Group A, made a lower bracket run, defeating Xtreme Gaming, Gaimin Gladiators, Azure Ray, and BetBoom Team to reach the Grand Finals. Despite their momentum, they couldn’t match Falcons’ level of play.
Impact on Dota 2 Esports
This tournament, kicking off the 2024 Dota 2 season, marks a return to third-party competitions after the dissolution of the Dota Pro Circuit. Held from February 4 to 16 in Dubai, the event featured 12 top teams from around the globe.
