In a recent update to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games swiftly addressed a minor setback, allowing players to access a newly unveiled development menu. Insomniac Games clarifies that a "hotfix is underway" to rectify the situation, cautioning players about the potential risks involved, as utilizing this menu could compromise game saves and trophy progress.

Despite the warning, enthusiasts delving into the update wasted no time in sharing their findings on various platforms, particularly Reddit, where mentions of a mysterious new character surfaced within the unexpected development menu.

These revelations appear to coincide with findings from the Insomniac Leak, hinting at the possible introduction of a new character through downloadable content (DLC), with speculation leaning towards the inclusion of the Beetle, possibly portrayed as Janice Lincoln, in the latest iteration of the character.

Insomniac Games reassured fans today that engaging with the game in its intended manner poses no inherent risks. The announcement of today’s update by Insomniac Games occurred a month prior, promising the introduction of highly sought-after features such as New Game+, fresh suits, and improved accessibility through features like Audio Descriptions.

Despite the minor glitch associated with the development menu, Insomniac Games has yet to officially confirm any details regarding the forthcoming DLC. The potential inclusion of beetle content might remain unexplored territory for now. However, should these speculations prove accurate, they could lend credence to previous leaks that surfaced in the final months of 2023.

In December 2023, a ransomware group disclosed over 1.3 million files, hinting at the possible addition of various characters to the game’s roster.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues to soar as one of PlayStation’s most significant recent successes. In mid-February, Insomniac Games announced that the game had surpassed the 10 million copies sold milestone, achieving half of this figure within a mere ten days of its release.

PlayStation recently made the difficult decision to downsize its global workforce, resulting in the layoff of 900 employees. Insomniac Games responded officially last week, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and characterizing it as "a solemn and unprecedented moment for our studio".
