NVIDIA has unveiled its latest innovation, Cloud G-SYNC technology, designed to revolutionize the game streaming experience for users of GeForce NOW. Exclusively available on GeForce NOW RTX 4080 SuperPOD instances within the Ultimate subscription tier, Cloud G-SYNC synchronizes display refresh rates with cloud gaming streams, effectively minimizing screen tearing and stuttering, thereby ensuring smoother gameplay. This cutting-edge feature also integrates Reflex technology to further reduce latency in cloud gaming environments.

Compatibility and Usage Requirements

To harness the power of Cloud G-SYNC, users must possess display equipment with a refresh rate exceeding 60Hz and support for variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, such as Nvidia G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync, or Apple's ProMotion. It's important to note that Cloud G-SYNC is exclusively accessible through native GeForce NOW applications and is not compatible with browser, mobile, or TV clients.

For Windows systems, a minimum requirement of NVIDIA Turing architecture graphics cards (GTX 16 or RTX 20 series) is essential, with support limited to Nvidia GPUs, excluding Intel or AMD counterparts. Additionally, the macOS version of the application extends compatibility to all Apple Silicon models and select Intel-based Mac models, including specific configurations of MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac Pro.

Ensuring that systems equipped with GeForce possess at least the R545 driver version is crucial to unlocking the potential of Cloud G-SYNC. However, it's important to note that under Windows, Cloud G-SYNC does not support multiple monitors. Alongside the introduction of Cloud G-SYNC, NVIDIA has also rolled out the GeForce NOW cloud game day pass, offering Priority and Ultimate variants priced at $3.99 and $7.99, respectively. These passes grant users 6 or 8 hours of gaming at their corresponding level, catering to individuals seeking temporary gaming sessions or exploring cloud gaming alternatives.
