The biggest international gaming tournament is almost here.

The Esports World Cup 2025 will officially begin on Monday, July 7, in Riyadh with a grand opening show. It will continue all the way until Sunday, August 24, making it the largest competition of its kind.

This year, the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced a prize pool of more than 70 million US dollars, which is 10 million more than what was offered last year during the first edition of the event.

With 25 different tournaments across 24 games, the 2025 edition adds four new titles to the list: Chess, Crossfire, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, and VALORANT. Over 2,000 top-level esports players and 200 top global clubs will be competing in what is now the largest multi-title esports event in history.

A major part of the prize money, around 27 million dollars, will go to the top 16 clubs in the EWC Club Championship, a unique format that awards points based on performance across games. The club that ranks number one in 2025 will take home 7 million dollars alone.

Earlier known as Gamers8, this is the second year the event is being hosted under the new Esports World Cup name and brand. With its bigger scale, elite teams, and top-tier titles, the EWC is set to make esports history.
