The recent release of WWE 2K24 on March 5, 2024, marked a special occasion as it celebrated 40 years of WrestleMania. However, the festivities were overshadowed by the exclusion of two prominent wrestlers, Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar, from the game due to ongoing legal issues.
Both McMahon and Lesnar were removed from the game's roster at the last minute amidst allegations of sexual assault and trafficking. Consequently, their faces were blurred in the game, and they were rendered unplayable characters. This decision reflects the real-world ramifications they are currently facing.

While WWE 2K24 pays homage to WrestleMania's rich history with special moments and archived footage, McMahon's presence in the game remains contentious. Although his image is blurred in certain instances, such as during the Stone Cold Steve Austin versus The Rock match, inconsistencies persist across archival footage. Similarly, Lesnar's depiction in the game mirrors McMahon's, with no indication of changes until their legal matters are resolved.
Until McMahon and Lesnar are cleared of the allegations against them, their blurred faces serve as a reminder of the challenges faced by the wrestling franchise and the ongoing legal battles within the industry.
Furthermore, MyRise career mode now has two new storylines, which include the women’s and men’s divisions. MyFaction and MyGM modes have also seen improvements all around. Lastly, the soundtrack for the title has been curated by the popular artist, Post Malone. The game has been released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
