LGD Gaming, a prominent name in the competitive Dota 2 scene, has declared a temporary departure from the esports battlegrounds. The Chinese organization announced its decision to skip the forthcoming Elite League and to take a break from competitive Dota 2 activities. This move is attributed to the team's recent underperformance in Dota 2 tournaments, sparking various rumors and speculations about the organization's future.

The announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter) on March 29, 2024, outlines LGD Gaming's plan for an intermission period starting on the same date. This hiatus is meant to facilitate a significant roster change, with the organization expressing intentions to return to the competitive arena once the lineup adjustments are satisfactorily completed. LGD Gaming conveyed its regret over the decision to its steadfast followers, acknowledging the disappointment this news might bring to fans.

This pause in competition and the pending roster overhaul come amid swirling rumors of financial instability within LGD Gaming. Allegations of bankruptcy, along with accusations related to unpaid salaries and bonuses, have cast a shadow over the organization. Further fueling the rumor mill, a post on the Dota 2 Reddit included purported messages from LGD Gaming’s coach, Zhang "xiao8" Ning, indicating the team's disbandment. However, LGD Gaming has not confirmed these speculations.

Adding to the controversy, the same Reddit post mentioned a confrontation between RuRu, associated with LGD Gaming, and former player Yang "Chalice" Shenyi. Chalice alleged unpaid dues by the organization, amounting to 100,000 RMB (~$13,849.65 USD), raising concerns about the financial dealings and obligations of LGD Gaming.

As the Dota 2 community watches closely, LGD Gaming's announced hiatus and roster revamp signal a period of transition and uncertainty for one of the game's stalwart teams. Fans and observers alike await further updates, hoping for a strong comeback and clarity on the organization's future endeavors in the competitive Dota 2 landscape.
