KRU Esports, owned by Argentine footballer Sergio Aguero and partnered with Lionel Messi, has officially ventured into Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) with an Argentine roster. The organization had been eyeing entry into CS2 since November 2023 and has now signed a squad previously known as PUBG Aim, which competed in various CS2 open qualifiers in 2024.
The team's entry into CS2 aligns with Aguero's vision of creating a CS2 academy to nurture talented players from Argentina. While the Academy is yet to materialize, KRU Esports has taken the first step by assembling its main CS2 team, supporting homegrown talent in the process.
The roster comprises players who participated in qualifiers for prominent CS2 tournaments like PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 SA RMR Open Qualifier 2 and IEM Chengdu 2024 South America Open Qualifier 1. Here are the members:
- Roberto "reversive" Themtham
- Nicolás "lenci" Lencinas
- Joaquin "atarax1a" Biglieri
- Eduardo "laser" Chshekin
- Sebastian "righi" Righi
- Ignacio "nch" Devita (Coach)

Earlier attempts by KRU Esports to enter the CS2 scene, including a failed bid to sign the former Brazilian team Paqueta, did not materialize. However, with a new Argentine lineup, the organization aims to replicate its success in Valorant and establish itself as a prominent force in Latin American esports.
