Omega Slayers (OS) Esports has announced a postponement of their ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) tournament, Clash of Warriors Season 2, due to technical issues. Initially launched with high expectations and a robust lineup of teams, the tournament faced unexpected challenges that necessitated a reschedule.
Reason for the Postponement
The league stage of the Clash of Warriors Season 2, which kicked off on April 23rd, encountered multiple bugs and server issues, disrupting the gameplay experience. As a result, OS Esports has decided to restart the league stage from April 29th, 2024, to ensure fair play and a smooth continuation of the competition.
Official Announcement
OS Esports communicated the delay through their Instagram handle, expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to fans and participants. The official statement read: “Dear Viewers, We regret to inform you that due to in-game bugs and server issues encountered yesterday, the OS Clash of Warriors S2 League Stage will recommence from Day 1 on April 29th, 2024. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work to ensure a smooth event.”
Teams and Competition Structure
The tournament features a diverse lineup of teams categorized into four groups:
- Group A: iQOO Soul, Godlike Esports, Orangutan, Team Zero, WindGod Esports, Hyderabad Hydras, Alibaba Raiders, Team Insane.
- Group B: Carnival Gaming, Gujarat Tigers, Blind Esports, Reckoning Esports, WSB Gaming, Autobotz Esports, Enigma Gaming, Team THW.
- Group C: Gods Reign, Hydra Esports, Team 8Bit, Medal Esports, Chemin Esports, Team Forever, Team Psyche, Team Genesis.
- Group D: Team XSpark, Revenant Esports, Entity Gaming, Global Esports, Team Tamilas, Big Brother Esports, UP50 Esports, K9 Squad.
This reshuffling offers a fresh start for all teams and a chance for emerging squads like UP50 Esports, Team Genesis, Team THW, and K9 Squad to prove their mettle against established names in the BGMI community.
Where to Watch
The rescheduled matches will be streamed live starting from April 29th, 2024, at 5 PM onwards on the official OS Esports YouTube Channel and the OS Esports Rooter Channel. Fans can expect to see high-level gameplay as teams vie for the significant prize pool of INR 5 Lakhs and battle to establish dominance in the competitive scene.
Looking Forward
The delay, while unfortunate, provides OS Esports with an opportunity to address the technical issues comprehensively, ensuring that the rest of the tournament proceeds without any further disruptions. This event continues to be a significant platform for showcasing and developing esports talent in India, contributing to the growing prominence of BGMI as a competitive title.
